A Farewell of Sorts

Hey y'all!

I'm sure by now you have noticed my lack of posting. It's been a while and I apologize for not getting to this post sooner. I'm afraid it's been a long time coming but I have been reluctant to it. After much time and consideration, I have decided to take a step back from the blogging world. While I have enjoyed every minute of sharing my love for books for others, I've come to the realization that there simply aren't enough hours in the day for me to do everything that I need to do. I work full-time, am going back to school online full-time, have a 1st grader that is struggling with reading, and on top of that I'm pregnant. Lately, the only books I have been able to read are either textbooks or first grade reading level books. I have listened to a couple of audiobooks but just haven't had time to write a review. To sum it up, I'm tired and need a break.

So, what does this mean for Wholly Books? Well, you may have noticed that Emily has been the only one posting anything lately. I have spoken to her and she has agreed to take over the blog. That means that she is the one that will handle review requests, tour requests, interview requests, ect. and she will be doing most of the posts. I believe that she is looking into getting another blogger but I don't think it's set in stone yet. I'm sure that she will create a separate post with more details about how she plans to proceed. I will still have access to the blog and if at some post I find the time to post something I will. They just may be really few and far between.

Also, I will not be using the @whollybooks twitter account. I'm going to let Emily take over that as well. If you want to follow me you can @abgafford. If I don't respond to you on twitter it's not because I don't love you, it's because the app has been deleted from my phone (stupid iPhone with limited memory).

I want to thank you all for all of the support over the years. It means so much to me that the blog has grown to this point. I hope that you will continue to support Wholly Books and support Emily as you have supported me. Emily is amazing and I have no doubt that she will do an amazing job.

With the new baby on the way, I need more space so I am going to be going through some books and getting rid of some. I hope to have a post selling some of them and will probably be giving away some of the ARCs that I have. I'm not sure when that will be so just keep an eye out!

Lastly, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NEW TWILIGHT STORY? Part of me is super excited and part of me is a little terrified. Twilight is the series that got me back into reading so I'm scared that this new Twilight Reimagined thing may ruin it for me. Still, I have to read it. How could I not? Now, I just have to find the time.

Much Love,

  1. Sad to see you go, Ashley. But you need to take care of yourself and your family and that's totally understandable. :) Best wishes.
