I Need YOUR Help...Pretty Please

Hey y'all,

You may or may not have noticed that I am in grad school. That is why I have been posting about my travels the past few weeks. I have tried to tie in all of my travel posts to books in one way or another to give you guys another reason to read my travel experiences.

Anyway, I am taking another class in which I have to do a digital portfolio/project. I have decided to do a reading campaign to help get teens reading. I already have some ideas but I was hoping you all could help me out a little regarding ways to do this. Here's a little of what I have so far.

I want to do a digital reading campaign to get teens interested in reading. The primary goal will be obviously to get teens reading. However, I do have a couple of secondary goals they are: to bring awareness to the importance and/or relevance of YA books, to promote the idea of allowing teens to choose the book that they read as part of a reading assignment.

Now, for my "game plan". I want to come up with a slogan (still working on that) and use that slogan for a hashtag on twitter/instagram (I will have a twitter and instagram account just for this project) to help promote a general awareness of this reading campaign. On my blog I will do a giveaway featuring YA books. This giveaway would be exclusively for teens. The problem with this is that I think that most of the participants of the giveaway will be people that are already readers. So I'm thinking that maybe each winner will receive two copies of the same book and that they will give the other copy to a friend that doesn't read and would like the book. My hope is that I can reach the non-reader by inspiring other readers to reach out. I'm not sure how many books I would personally be able to giveaway so I am considering reaching out to some publishers/authors that may be willing to donate books for the giveaway. I also want to make an infographic to help non-readers decide what books to read. The idea is that if you like "x" and "y" then try this book. I have seen some of these and think they could be helpful for non-readers that may be overwhelmed with all of the options of books. All of these books would be books that I have personally read and recommend. In order to promote my secondary goals I am hoping to be able to get some volunteers from other readers/teens/bloggers that would be willing to write a short post about how a book or books have changed their life.

My teacher also wants an interactive part and I'm not 100% sure on what that could be. So this is where I need your help. Do you think that teens would want to read and discuss books that they read and if so any suggestion on how to make this possible?

Also, any teens/bloggers that would be willing to do a short post about a book that changed your life or how YA books in general have changed your life?

I know this post is very information heavy but I really do thank you for reading and would love to hear your suggestions on any part of it.  I am really excited about this project. I just hope that I can pull it off. Let me know your thoughts in the comments or email me at!

Thanks so much!
