To save the lives of countless people in Captive’s Sound, Nadia has sworn herself to the One Beneath, to black magic. Her plan, and the town’s only hope, is for Nadia to learn enough sorcery to strike back against the forces of darkness. But now that she’s separated from her friends, her family, and her Steadfast, Mateo, Nadia is more vulnerable than ever to darkness. And as the sorceress Elizabeth summons torrential rains and brings the One Beneath closer to the mortal world, Nadia is running out of time to stop her. The final battle lines are drawn, surprising alliances are made, and true love is tested in the action-packed conclusion to the breathtaking Spellcaster series.
Sorceress is richly woven with New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s signature dark magic, captivating mystery, and star-crossed romance.
Every time I start the next book in this series it takes me a little bit to get back into it. The beginning is always a little slow but by the end I am completely captivated by the the story.
One of the things that I have loved about the series is the characters. Verlaine and Asa continue to be my favorite. I love their relationship. It was so interesting because you know that Asa is a demon, much like Verlaine does, but you still hope that they find a way to work it out. In my opinion, Verlaine and Asa stole the show. I did like Nadia and Mateo but just not as much as I did Verlaine and Asa.
I felt like this was more Verlaine's book. She had some very interesting developments in Sorceress and I was so happy for her. She deserved it.
The outcome of this book looked bleak, especially toward the end. I wasn't sure how or if Nadia and Mateo would be able to get out of the mess that they were in. There was a lot going on in this book and I really enjoyed the action and how things ended up.
Again, I loved the narrator. I felt like she did an excellent job. I love her voice and the way that she tells the story.
This is probably my favorite series by Claudia Gray and I was very happy with how it turned out. Claudia Gray created another book that had me biting my nails in anticipation.
