Top Ten Tuesday (60)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish!

1. & 2. The Lost Saint and The Savage Grace by Bree Despain- I read The Dark Divine several year ago and enjoyed it. When The Lost Saint came out I bought it but never got around to reading it. Same with The Savage Grace. Now, it's been years and I have pretty much no clue what happened in The Dark Divine and am doubting if I'll ever read them. The sad part is I have them signed and personalized to me so I can't even give them away.

3. & 4. The Goddess Test and Goddess Interrupted by Amiee Carter- I think I won both of these in a giveaway a long time ago. I may have bought The Goddess Test but I can't remember for sure. I really wanted to read them but with the amount of new books I get all the time I wonder if I'll get to them.

5. The Lullaby by Amanda Hocking- I really don't know why I bought this book because I honestly didn't care for the first book that much. I think it was because I had a coupon to my semi-local indie bookstore and they had a signed copy of it. Who can pass up a signed copy?

6. & 7. The Vincent Brothers and The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines- Okay, I know what I am about to say goes against the majority but I really dislike Abbi Glines books. I have read two, Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far and to be honest they made me angry. I didn't even review them because I try to not to be too harsh in reviews and I didn't think I could do that with those books. The worst part is that Abbi is actually from the same area as me and I met her on several occassions. I got all four of the books I mentioned signed at a signing (again to me). I think Abbi is sweet but I don't plan on reading any more of her books.

8. & 9. White Cat and Red Glove by Holly Black- I bought the first book at Booksamillion in their bargain section and the second I won. I heard so many great things about Holly Black and was really excited about them. I may eventually get to them but things aren't looking good for them.

10. An Bundance of Katherines by John Green- I read The Fault in our Stars and Looking for Alaska and they were okay but I'm just not sure John Green's books are for me. Personally, I think John Green is awesome, I'm just not crazy about his books.

So there's my To Read or Not to Read list, what's on yours?

  1. I share your views on John Green. Everyone loves his books, but I didn't think any of them were more than ok, though.

  2. I completely agree with you on Abbi Glines' books. It drives me nuts whenever I see them shelved in the YA section of my bookstore! They are not YA! They're too risqué to be YA! Sheesh. I've told them over and over again but no one listens to me. Lol.

  3. I love love love Holly Black's Curseworker's series! There's really not much urban fantasy in the YA category, and her concept is so unique and well-developed. The characters and writing were both very good.

  4. My friend bought me a signed copy of Lullaby too. I wasn't going to turn it away, but I honestly don't really expect to read it...at least not anytime soon. I HATED The Vincent Boys. And that's odd because I typically enjoy Abbi Glines. Well...I find that I get frustrated with almost every single one of her books. But I still get sucked in. One of her books made my list too.
