Goodreads Description:

Annie hates running. No matter how far she jogs, she can’t escape the guilt that if she hadn’t broken up with Kyle, he might still be alive. So to honor his memory, she starts preparing for the marathon he intended to race.

But the training is even more grueling than Annie could have imagined. Despite her coaching, she’s at war with her body, her mind—and her heart. With every mile that athletic Jeremiah cheers her on, she grows more conflicted. She wants to run into his arms…and sprint in the opposite direction. For Annie, opening up to love again may be even more of a challenge than crossing the finish line.

"Breathe, Annie, Breathe is an emotional, heartfelt, and beautiful story about finding yourself after loss and learning to love. It gave me so many feels. Her best book yet." — Jennifer Armentrout, New York Times bestselling author of Wait for You

It's been a while since I had read a Miranda Kenneally book and I honestly have no idea why! I read Catching Jordan way back when and really enjoyed it then I bought Stealing Parker and for whatever reason it is still sitting on my bookshelf unread. I really and truly don't know why! When I saw Breathe, Annie, Breathe up on Netgalley I decided that it was time to end my Miranda Kenneally drought and as luck would have it I was approved!

I can relate to Annie. She hates to run. As, do I, Annie. As. Do. I. I have always thought that those people that run marathons are simply out of their minds. WHO WANTS TO RUN 26 MILES? No, seriously, who wants to run that far?? You have to be a little out there to want to do something like that. Still, Annie decides to train to run a marathon. Her decision to do something she hates is because she feels it's the perfect way to honor someone she loved. I loved Annie for that but more than that I had mad respect for the girl. I'm not sure I could have done it no matter the reason.

Jeremiah is the guy every girl secretly wants. The boy with a bad reputation but a kind heart. Every girl wants to be the girl that changes the guy, the one he decides to stick with and for Jeremiah, Annie is that girl. The only problem is whether Annie can let him in.

I enjoyed seeing the ups and downs of Annie and Jeremiah's relationship. They are both dealing with issues that they would rather not talk about but as the novel progresses we do get to see what they are dealing with a little better. While there was one part of the book that I didn't like about their relationship, I still liked it overall.

I loved that you get to see glimpses of old characters, even if they are small! It had been so long since I had read Catching Jordan I had to think about how exactly some of the characters were.

Breathe, Annie, Breathe is a thought provoking book that will pull at your heartstrings. While primarily a story about love and loss, Breathe, Annie, Breathe, is also full of intrigue. Readers will be anxious to find out all the details of both Annie and Jeremiah's past. A great read!!
