RT Teen Day Wrap-Up and Giveaway

This past Saturday I took a trip to NOLA which is about 3.5 hours from where I live to go to RT Book Convention Teen Day. I have gone for three straight years and have a lot of fun every year!

Teen Day is an all day event. First, there is the giant book signing which is from 11-2. There you will be able to meet and get books signed by a ton of authors. There are YA authors, NA authors, and Adult authors. There is always a lot of people there to get books signed. You will bump into people. This year I made the mistake of wearing a long maxi dress and it kept getting stepped on (by me and other people). Also, this year it was hot. I don't remember it being that hot in years past but this year it was seriously hot.

After the signing, there are workshops where different YA authors are on panels. You can choose to attend three different ones. I always enjoy the panels and think that they are a lot of fun! I was only able to go to two because I was still in line to pay for books from the giant book signing. I seriously had to wait in line for over an hour. The line was insane! Last year, I didn't buy any books at the convention and I do recommend doing that.

After the panel, is the Teen Day party which is awesome! It's a party where you can mix and mingle with all of the YA authors that attended the event. They have food (I don't recommend the crap cake patty sandwich thing...ewww but do recommend the chocolate truffles). And they give away a ton of free books! Seriously, a ton!!! They give them out to the actual teens first but then pass them out to the adults after the teens have their bags and then usually they have extra and give whoever wants one a second bag. Then they have a Goody Room where you can walk through and pick out four books.

A few of the books that I got and are really excited about are:

Made for You by Melissa Marr
The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
The Jewel by Amy Ewing
Boys Like You by Julianna Stone

And...I am drawing a blank right now as I'm writing this post. I am going to try to do a Stacking the Shelves post this weekend to show everything I got! :)

I definitely recommend going if they are ever near you. The Teen Day pass is only $30 and I think it is well worth it. You have a chance to meet lots of authors and they give away some great books!

Here are a couple of pictures from the event.

Since I was able to get so many books I want to share them with you!!! Some of the books I got I either owned already or just didn't think they would be for me. One winner will be able to select 4 of the books below plus I will send the RT tote bag and also some of the swag pictured below. There are chapter samplers, posters, bookmarks, necklaces, and more. (This includes the lip gloss from Ashley Elston for The Rules of Disappearing.)

Due to shipping this giveaway is US Only!! Sorry!

Note: Not all of the books are signed!
The signed books are: Just One Day, Crewel, and The Beautiful and the Cursed.
