Armchair BEA: Introductions (Day One)

Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?

My name is Ashley. I'm 26 years old (I am getting so incredibly old and it is so depressing!). I am from a very small dot in the world that you have most likely never heard of but 'round here we call it Flomaton, AL.

I have been blogging 3 or 4 years now. I'm not 100% sure. I am awful at keeping up with things like that!

I got into blogging because I love reading and when I found out there was a whole community of people out there that loved reading too I had to a part of that!

What was your favorite book read last year? What’s your favorite book so far this year?

Favorite Contemporary book this year: The Rule for Breaking by Ashley Elston

Favorite Contemporary book last year: The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

Favorite Non-Contemporary book this year: Ignite Me by Taherah Mafi

Favorite Non-Contemporary book last year: Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Spread the love by naming your favorite blogs/bloggers (doesn’t necessarily have to be book blogs/bloggers).

Some of my favorite blogs/bloggers are:

Rachel at Paper Cuts

Share your favorite book or reading related quote.

What book would you love to see as a movie?

I would love to see this book as a movie. It has fantastic world-building and I would love to be able to see it on the screen.

  1. Should I be the one that says "26 is not old! Just wait til you're thirty, you've hardly scratched the surface on old!" LOL! Somebody always says something like that to me when I insist that I'm getting really old. ;-)

That quote about reading is one of my favorites, too!

  3. Hi Ashley! First of all - 26 is NOT old! Because 34 is not old - and that's my age. ;) Secondly, I don't live far from you and am among the minority that will know where Flomaton is! ;) Third - I also chose Shadow and Bone as a book to movie I'd love to see.

Enjoy your week of Armchair BEA!

  6. Hi Ashley! It's a small world. I know where Flomaton is too!

You are the fifth person that I have seen with praises for Shadow and Bone today. I must get my hands on a copy.

I'll be reading The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay this summer.

    Your blog header is awesome!

    Happy Armchair BEA!

  8. You are just too stinkin' sweet! And 26 is nowhere near old, sister. I passed that milestone a good while back, and I still like to think of myself as a youngster. Well, except my back hurts sometimes, and those darn kids won't get off my lawn! ;-)

  9. I would LOVE to see The Grisha series as movies! I agree, wonderful world building. You're not incredibly old. I am 28. (There are times I feel incredibly old though...)
It was nice to meet you! :D
