Goodreads Description:

Merit has been a vampire for only a short while, but she’s already seen a lifetime’s worth of trouble. She and her Master, centuries-old Ethan Sullivan, have risked their lives time and again to save the city they love. But not all of Chicago is loving them back.

Anti-vampire riots are erupting all over town, striking vampires where it hurts the most. A splinter group armed with Molotov cocktails and deep-seated hate is intent on clearing the fanged from the Windy City come hell or high water.

Merit and her allies rush to figure out who’s behind the attacks, who will be targeted next, and whether there’s any way to stop the wanton destruction. The battle for Chicago is just beginning, and Merit is running out of time.

I believe there's something that can be said about an author that can write 8 books in a vampires series and have every single one of them be just as good if not better than the book before. Somehow Neill continues to tell an entertaining story with each installment in the Chicagoland Vampires series. BITING BAD is no exception.

One of the things I really loved about BITING BAD was that Merit and Ethan are finally having a relationship and we finally get to see them happy. Sure there's some bad crap going on, and Valentine's Day didn't go exactly as planned but they are in fact happily together, and very much in love. And while I enjoyed the back and forth nature of their relationship in the beginning, I love seeing them together.

Of course, it wouldn't be Cadogan House if there wasn't a little drama.  Like previous books there's a mystery/suspense element to BITING BAD.   Merit and Co. have to figure out the source of the anti-vampire riots. Who is doing it and why? And how can they stop them? Then there's also the GP drama that seems to be neverending.

I liked that it appears Mallory is about to be reintegrated into the gang. She's finally beginning to control her magic and Merit is starting to trust her again. I'm interested to see how Mallory's character continues to develop.

One of my new favorite characters is Jonah. I loved him in the last few books and I continued loving him in this one. I really hope that he is able to find someone. He seems like such a sweet guy and totally deserves to find happiness!

BITING BAD  is also full of snarkiness like we have come to expect from Chloe Neill. All of the characters wit and banter is so much fun to watch. I love seeing them all go back and forth with each other!

BITING BAD is another excellent installment in The Chicagoland Vampires series. Reading this book reminded me of how much I love this series and I can't wait to see how Merit, Ethan, and Co. get out of this next jam!
