That Awkward Thursday (17)

That Awkward Thursday is a feature hosted by Wholly Books where it's not only okay but encouraged to share your awkward moments

That awkward moment you forget to post a blog tour/feature post you had committed to posting...

Okay, so this hasn't happened to me...YET! However, I have a feeling that it will eventually happen to me. Probably soon, considering I have started commiting to more blog tours and other special events. This is something that I am terrified of doing. I hate the idea of letting someone down or people thinking that I'm not reliable. It's this huge fear of mine and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't happened to me becasue I really don't want all of this awkwardness!

I can just picture getting a tweet or an email from a blog tour host or publisher asking what happened to my post. I would be so embarassed I'm not sure how I would respond except with an, "OMG! I'm so sorry! Getting it up soon!" I mean really what more could you say?

I've never really had a system for keeping up with all of the tours, reviews I am doing but recently I decided to start a calendar on my phone. I figure this is the best way to keep up with what I'm doing when. I'm not sure how long I'll keep this up. I've never been good with scheduling stuff. I'm a go with the flow girl and tend to not do well with schedules.

So has this ever happened to you? Was it awkward and embarassing?  How do you keep this from happening?

  1. I've never forgotten a post on a scheduled day, but I've actually had people organizing the blog tour not send me the materials I need for the post in time. It's super awkward to email them that day, especially if you've already emailed previously, asking about it.

Were it to happen, I think they would understand, though. Everyone makes mistakes! :) I don't keep a calendar for posts, but I keep my upcoming blog tours sidebar super up to date so I can just reference from there. That's really not the best way to do it, but I know I won't keep a calendar up, so... :)
