What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...
After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.
But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has...
WITH ALL MY SOUL is grand finale to the Soul Screamers series. Rachel Vincent did an excellent job of concluding the series. The series as a whole is a story of love, friendship, and what you’re willing to sacrifice for those you love. WITH ALL MY SOUL is has all of that times 1,000.
Kaylee has become one of my favorite heroines. She is strong, stubborn, and completely devoted to keeping her friends safe, even when it’s impossible. I love that Kaylee has a burning fire inside her and isn’t afraid to risk it all to safe those she cares about. Kaylee is faced with her most difficult decisions yet (though I’m sure to her they are quite simple) in WITH ALL MY SOUL.
I love all of the other characters as well. Sabine, Nash, Tod, Emma, and Sophie are so interesting to watch interact. They all have their issues but at the end of the day, they love each other.
I did have a little bit of a hard time getting into WITH ALL MY SOUL, but I think the main reason was because it had been so long since I had read the other books in the series. I read the first six back to back and was able to get much more engrained in the story. Still, once I got into I really enjoyed it.
The ending of WITH ALL MY SOUL was nothing short of brilliant. I almost gave the book 5 cows just on it alone but the beginning of the book was just a little too slow for it to be overruled. Seriously, though the ending was perfect. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful. I loved that Vincent allowed us to the see the readers a few years post high school. All in all, WITH ALL MY SOUL is a beautiful, heartbreaking, and inspiring ending to a fantastic series.
