Goodreads Description:

The fates of Cinder and Scarlet collide as a Lunar threat spreads across the Earth...

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

The second book in the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer does not disappoint. SCARLET will give you everything you loved from the first book and so much more! Action, adventure, humor, and love the makings of a great book!

I admittedly was a little hestitant with SCARLET. I wasn't sure how I would like the story not being completely about Cinder and Kai. I just couldn't figure out how the story would all piece together with the addition of Scarlet and Wolf. BUT...Marissa Meyer knew what she was doing and pulled it off near flawlessly. It was interesting seeing how their stories were interconnected and watching them both piece everything together. It was a big puzzle and was fun trying to put all the pieces together along with the characters.

As much as I love Prince Kai, I must say that he's got some hefty competition for my heart. Lucky for him, he's not after my heart. Neither is Wolf for that matter...maybe Throne? Hmm...I could totally go for this because Thorne is also hot and very funny. I like funny guys... Okay, I'm getting off subject. Basically, what you need to know is that SCARLET is full of swoonworthy guys!

Scarlet and Cinder are both great female heriones. Cinder struggles with getting a grasp on her new lunar abilites but I believe that she handles it all well. Cinder is scared of what her new identity means but she pushes forward and realizes that there is more at stake than her identity crisis. Scarlet, on the other hand, is fiesty and determined. She'll stop at nothing to find her grandmother even if that means losing her life. I loved both of the characters and can't wait to see more.

Like with Cinder, I listened to the audiobook of SCARLET. The narrator did an excellent job with the voices and portraying the characters emotions. This is an audiobook I definitely recommend.

SCARLET was an excellent addition to the Lunar Chronicles and I can't wait to see what Marissa Meyer has in store for us in Cress after the ending to SCARLET!
