U. S. Only Giveaway!
Signed copy of The Other Life by Susanne Winnacker

Goodreads Description:

3 years, 1 month, 1 week and 6 days since I’d seen daylight. One-fifth of my life.

Sherry and her family have lived sealed in a bunker in the garden since things went wrong up above. Her grandfather has been in the freezer for the last three months, her parents are at each other’s throats and two minutes ago they ran out of food.

Sherry and her father leave the safety of the bunker and find a devastated and empty LA, smashed to pieces by bombs and haunted by ‘Weepers’ - rabid humans infected with a weaponized rabies virus.

While searching for food in a supermarket, Sherry’s father disappears and Sherry is saved by Joshua, a boy-hunter. He takes her to Safe-haven, a tumble-down vineyard in the hills outside LA, where a handful of other survivors are picking up the pieces of their ‘other lives’. As she falls in love for the first time, Sherry must save her father, stay alive and keep Joshua safe when his desire for vengeance threatens them all.

Literary Fiction

Okay, I'm going to be honest and upfront and say that I really didn't have a clue what exactly literary fiction was. My best guess was that it was similar to classics but since there has already been a classics post I second guessed myself. After some research I think that it is a very similar type of books. That being said here's a couple of my favorite "Classic" Books.

FAVORITE QUOTE: “The fate of this man or that man was less than a drop, although it was a sparkling one, in the great blue motion of the sunlit sea.”

- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

FAVORITE QUOTE: “There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.”

  1. Oooh Pride & Prejudice! My fav! :D

    Fahima @ I Read, Ergo I Write

  2. There are so many books! And I would love to have more time every day so I can read them all! I have read Pride and Prejudice a long time ago, maybe I'll revisit it one day :)

    Here's my Literary Fiction post.

  3. It's sad to say that I've never read Pride and Prejudice, maybe someday...

Here's My Giveaway & Literary Fiction Post

  4. Love that quote from P&P! I wasn't sure what Literary Fiction was either... but... meh, I tried on my own post!

  5. Awesome giveaway! I've read The Other Life and reviewed it sometime last year. It was really a great read and yes, most Classics are Literary Fiction, but there are also some good modern ones out there! Awesome quotes btw!

Here's a link to my Literary Fiction post

  6. I love those quotes, especially the lovely P and P one. Thanks for the giveaway! The book sounds great. Classics do seem to be what literary fiction is.

  7. Thanks for hosting this giveaway, this sounds like an intense book! I'm your friendly ABEA cheerleader for tonight. I like literary fiction, although I had to learn what that meant from other blogs (basically "critically acclaimed" and "serious", luckily my award winners in my post fit the bill. see the books I awarded the Thanks for Changing My Life Awards on my ABEA post today. I look forward to chatting with you more throughout the week. Keep up the good work!

  8. Brilliant Pride and Prejudice quote! I am now fighting every urge to abandon all the other books in my TBR pile and start rereading =)
