Fictional Crushes...Boys are Better in Books Day 2

I recently just finished reading a book that has my absolute favorite fictional crush and was talking to my BFF about how amazing he was. This got me to thinking that this week would be the perfect week to feature my favorite fictional crushes.

Also, I asked my BFF to compile a list as well and she was kind enough to oblige. I figured this would be twice as fun and we would able to compare our crushes.
So each day from now until Valentine’s Day we will both give you one of our top five crushes! We are going to count down and on Valentine’s Day we will both reveal our favorite fictional crush!
Now, who’s ready for some swoonworthy hotness???

Ashley's #5 Favorite Fictional Crush:

5. Galen, Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Let me start off by saying that I have a thing for princes. But really, who doesn’t?  In case you haven’t guessed Galen is a Syrena Prince. He’s got the body of a Greek god and is so funny. A lot of his humor comes from him not fully understanding humans and their slang terms which makes me that much more adorable!

“Galen?”
“Hmm?”
“You can put me down now.”
“I’m not ready yet.” He tightens his hold.
“You don’t have to hold—“
“Emma? Can you hear me?”
“Uh, yes. I can hear fine. I just can’t see—“
“That’s a relief. Because for a minute there, I thought maybe you didn’t hear me when I said I’m not ready yet.”
“Jackass.

4. Prince Maxon, The Selection by Kiera Cass

Remember earlier when I said I had a thing for princes? Yeah, still have a thing for him. Maxon turned out to be a lot different than I thought he would. I thought he was going to be this stuck up guy but turns out he's not. He's sweet, caring, affection, and most importantly he wants to make a difference in his country. He's outraged when he discovers some of the injustices out there and wants to change things.

“...Maxon lowered his lips to mine and gave me the faintest whisper of a kiss.

Something about the tentativeness of it made me feel beautiful. Without a word, I could understand how excited he was to have this moment, but then afraid at the same time. And deeper than any of that, I sensed that he adored me.

So this is what it felt like to be a lady.”    -America on Prince Maxon, The Selection by Kiera Cass

“If you don’t want me to be in love with you, you’re going to have to stop looking so lovely. First thing tomorrow I’m having your maids sew some potato sacks together for you.”  - Prince Maxon

Kaci's #5 Favorite Fictional Crush:

When I was first asked to do this guest blog for Wholly Books, I thought it would be a breeze. Ha! It proved to be both the easiest and the hardest I’ve written in a while. The easy part was thinking of guys from YA/NA books to put on my crush list. I mean I am pretty sure these genres have produced some of the hottest male characters! This also leads me to the reason it was the hardest blog piece to write. There were so many I had the worst time narrowing it down to five! However, I did my best and narrowed it down. Let me know what y’all think! =)

5. Finally, I picked Colt from Nyrae Dawn’s book Charade. Colt sells drugs and would rather be anywhere than at college. Sounds like a loser? No way! Everything that he does is to help out his mom who is dying of cancer. You can’t fault a guy for loving his mom. He wasn’t perfect but that’s what made him perfect so to speak. When he says or does something sweet, you know he really means it. He also has that hot bad boy appeal which seems to be a theme among my picks.
“This isn’t a f-ing game anymore. No charades here. I don’t know exactly what to call it, but whatever it is, it’s ours. I’m going to latch onto it. And never let go.”

4. Next would be Garrick from Cora Carmack’s book Losing It. He has looks AND brains. He drives a motorcycle and has an accent. Sigh. What more could you want? He also puts up with all the awkwardness that is Bliss so that gives him major brownie points.

**I don’t really have a special quote from this book. However, I recommend you read the book because it is filled with some of the most hilarious quotes I’ve ever read!
