Goodreads Description:

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

My Thoughts:

I can sum up Meant to Be in two words: adorable and hilarious. Morrill creates a story that readers will instantly fall in love with and keep them captivated until the final page.

Within the first five pages I believe I laughed out loud at least three times. The book is just that funny! I adored Morrill’s writing style. It not only made the book easy to read but more importantly, it made the book fun to read!

I loved the main characters! I mean really how could you not love Julia and Jason? Julia was a control freak and stickler for rules but she was funny and you couldn’t help but love her.  Jason was her complete opposite. Jason marches into Julia’s world and completely turns it upside down. At least that what she thinks, really, Jason balances her out and gives her life the extra something she was missing.

The plot was fun and full of surprises. You never knew what Jason and Julia were going to get into next. There really wasn’t a dull moment in this book. Oh and the setting! I mean, hello, London! Who wouldn’t want to fall in love in London??

The cover of Meant to Be has to be one of my all time favorites. I love the color scheme and the background.  It really is a beautiful cover!

Meant to Be is a quick and fun read that will keep you laughing! Anyone looking for a contemporary romance should definitely pick this up!

  1. I really liked Jason and Julia. Also, I was shocked with the discovery of Chris. All this time I thought Chris was a boy.
