Pandemonium-Review

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)Goodreads Description:
I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school,
push,
push,
push,
like Raven taught me to do.
The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

My Thoughts:
Pandemonium comes out in exactly one week so I thought this would be the perfect time to post my review and thoughts about this book.
Pandemonium alternates back and forth between the “Then” and the “Now”. The “Then” part is her life immediately following crossing over into the wilds while the “Now” part is the present. I liked the back and forth because I felt that it gave an added suspense. You knew where Lena was going but you didn’t know how she got there.
This book gives us an almost entire new set of characters. Raven is the leader of the group that Lena is rescued by. You can tell that Raven’s time in the wilds has hardened her but it’s also made her stronger. I have mixed feelings about Raven. While she does some things to help Lena she also does some things that make me angry. Lena undergoes a definite transformation in this book. She has no other choice. She must forget her old life and Alex if she is going to survive in the wilds.  Julian is another new character and yes, he is another love interest for Lena. As much as I loved Alex in the first book, I like Lena, couldn’t help but fall for Julian as well.
I enjoyed the storyline and pace of this book. I was constantly wondering what was going to happen next and how they were going to get out of the current situation. The book ends on a cliffhanger, but it’s one that you can see coming.
I loved this book! It’s my favorite book so far this year and I will be sitting on pins and needles until the final book is released next year! If you haven’t pre-ordered this book yet, do so NOW!
